Android phones occasionally exhibit a peculiar issue where the device rings, but no call is received. This anomaly can stem from network misconfigurations, outdated carrier settings, or audio management problems.

Verify Network Settings

Network settings play a pivotal role in call reception. If your Android phone rings but no call appears, the issue might lie in the network configuration. Start by checking if your device is connected to the correct network. Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network. Ensure that the preferred network type is set to LTE/4G or 5G, depending on your carrier’s capabilities. If the issue persists, toggle Airplane Mode on and off to reset the network connection.

Additionally, verify that your SIM card is properly inserted and functioning. A loose or damaged SIM card can disrupt call reception. If necessary, remove the SIM card, clean it gently, and reinsert it securely. For dual-SIM devices, ensure the correct SIM is selected for calls in the SIM card settings.

Update Carrier Settings

Carrier settings are essential for seamless communication between your device and the network. Outdated carrier configurations can lead to call reception issues. To update these settings, go to Settings > System > Advanced > Carrier Settings.

If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it. This process ensures your device aligns with the latest network protocols and optimizes call handling.

Check Audio Management Settings

Audio management settings can inadvertently block incoming calls. If your phone rings but no call is received, inspect the Do Not Disturb mode. Navigate to Settings > Sound > Do Not Disturb and ensure it is turned off. Additionally, check if specific contacts or apps are allowed to bypass this mode. Misconfigured audio settings can silence incoming calls without your knowledge.

Another critical setting to review is the Call Forwarding feature. Go to Settings > Calls > Call Forwarding and ensure no numbers are listed. If call forwarding is active, your calls may be redirected to another number, causing the issue.

Reset Network Settings

If the above methods fail, resetting network settings can resolve persistent issues. This action restores all network-related configurations to their default state. To perform a network reset, go to Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth. Note that this process will erase saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile data settings, so proceed with caution.
